Systems Biology Researcher Database
SysBiolDB s a database serving as a platform for the worldwide exchange of information within Systems Biology. Registry in this database is free of charge.
It is being hosted by Prof. Karl Kuchler of the Vienna Biocenter in Vienna, Austria. Prof. Kuchler is a member of the Genetics Commission of the Austrian federal government and has for many years been actively involved in the process of science communication (e.g. as head of the managing committee of the non-profit association dialog<>gentechnik). Genetic engineering and its applications open up fascinating perspectives. At the same time it is a highly controversial subject. In order to use the potential of genetic engineering for the good of mankind and environment and to avoid undesirable developments, an open dialogue between science and public is crucial.
